AOL Users
Even though America Online (AOL) is not a browser, it is also best to use
the most recent version. Also, please note that many of our users have had
great success using an external browser - one of the above - while logged
onto AOL as an ISP. To get to this external browser:
First, sign on to AOL, but do NOT
click "go to the web."
Minimize the AOL window (there is probably a small
icon in the upper right corner of your AOL window which will allow you to
minimize it)
Now go to the "Start" menu of your computer, select
"Programs", and select "Internet Explorer" or "Netscape Communicator." This
will open up a new, "external" browser.
When you open up the browser, type the web address of
your school's online campus into the address bar and click the "enter" key
on your keyboard.
Login as usual.
You will want to access your courses this way each time to avoid many
problems.
Since you will not be using AOL's browser, you will need to go
back to AOL every 30 minutes or so and do something to "remind" AOL that you
are there. This can be something as minor as checking your email.
If you do not do this, AOL will sign you off after 45 minutes.
