Moreau, DC, DACBSPHours: 6 -Risk Management / Boundaries Training CategoryTuition: $99Course Description This six-hour distance based course will offer Doctors of Chiropractic an overview and an investigation of current issues in Chiropractic associated with chiropractic practice and professional boundary related issues. The professional boundary information provided will concern chiropractic and the boundary related issues encountered in chiropractic practice. This course will utilize actual events along with hypothetical doctor patient interactions. At the conclusion of the course each doctor will be able to construct a personal plan to avoid professional boundary related problems. The learner will be actively tracked and engaged in this distance-based class by the use of interactive teaching tools. Course Objectives / Outcomes:In this course the learner will: · Understand what professional boundary issues entail in chiropractic practice. · Develop a personal plan of professional protection involving practice skills used to avoid professional boundary issues. · Explore and recognize the duties required of a professional related to the knowledge of others unethical conduct. · Perform analysis of several cases involving reenacted scenarios related to professional boundaries and develop an action plan to deal with these boundary related issues. Evaluation Methods:The learner’s time spent studying course materials is tracked electronically. A formal multiple-choice examination is administered at the termination of the course materials. There will be at least three questions for every hour of the class. The learner must score 75% to receive credit for the course. Learners not achieving the pass rate will be directed to additional study by the instructor and allowed to re-take the examination.
