How much
time will I need to devote to my online classes?
People generally have the misconception that because a course is online, it
will not be as challenging as the live version. In fact, just the opposite
is true. In many cases students say that online courses are more challenging
than face-to-face classes. Although online classes do not take place in a
traditional classroom, you can expect to invest as much, if not more, time
and energy to successfully complete an online course. Just like in the
traditional classroom, online students complete assignments, take tests,
write papers and participate in discussions. The main difference is that you
do it on your own schedule!

Who do I contact if I have any problems or

e-mail. If your problems are technical, you may contact eCollege for support
24/7/365!

What happens if I am
bumped off
the internet while I am working through a course?
All you need to do is log back in and
continue where you left off! You do not need to go back through
materials you have already studied.
[top]
Can I do two hours on three
nights or do I have to do it all in one sitting?
You can take as much time as you need to
complete the course work within the term you signed up for. You can
log on for as long or short a period of time as you wish anytime of the day
or night. Imagine, you will never be late for class with DConline!
[top]

have taken it to refresh my memory or use it as a resource?
You will be able to return to a course during
the term you are enrolled. When there is a reference you wish to save it can
typically be printed. [top]
How do I successfully
complete a
course?
To successfully complete the course you will
take an online evaluation at the end of the course materials. There will be
three questions (Multiple Choice or True/False format) for each hour of
course credit. A six hour course will have 18 questions in the evaluation.
The examinations are instantly scored and you will see your results
immediately. [top]
What if I fail the
examination?
Your test will be evaluated to identify what
area you need to revisit and then you will directed to revisit the
applicable references to review those materials. You will then be allowed to
retake the examination at no additional cost.
[top]
How does the course track my time
spent studying the coursework?
The software will clock the amount of time
you spend reviewing the class materials. You do not need to do anything,
DConline will record that for you.
[top]
Is Online Education for
everyone?
No. Some doctors
would not find it the right method for them to learn if they want and
require the
personal interaction that a traditional classroom gives to them. Good
candidates for Distance Education courses are those doctors who are
self-directed and self-motivated. This may include doctors who enjoy
technology travel
extensively, live in remote locations, or those who, for personal or
professional reasons, need the flexibility to attend classes.
